## Who can join Lightyear?
Whether you're looking for an account for yourself or your business, we’ve got you covered.

### Personal accounts
[Personal accounts](/) are available to individuals aged 18+ who reside in countries where we’re authorised to offer our services.

United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (Republic), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

-   If you reside outside of our service area.
-   If you are a tax resident or citizen of the United States, or if certain legal or regulatory restrictions apply in other cases.

For UK residents opening personal accounts, we offer a General Investment Account as well as as the tax-advantaged accounts [Cash ISA](/cash-isa) and [Stocks and Shares ISA](/stocks-and-shares-isa).

### Business account
[Business accounts](/business) are available in all countries where personal accounts are offered, except Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. To open a business account, you need to live in our service area and start by setting up a personal account first.

At the moment, there are services we don’t offer on any type of account. This includes options, CFDs, futures trading, short-selling, pre-market and after-hours trading.
