# A better home for your TBSZ? Transfer it to Lightyear

Today, we're launching TBSZ transfers to Lightyear, from other banks and brokers. Free from our side, and with step-by-step guidance to help you through the process. The best part? Your tax benefits stay exactly where they are.

People often assume that switching providers "resets" their TBSZ, wiping out the accumulated holding period and removing the tax benefit. Good news: that's a myth. A TBSZ account can move from one provider to another, keeping its original collection year and the tax timeline that comes with it.

So if you've been leaving your TBSZ where it is because moving it sounded like it would cost you years of progress, it doesn't. Your collection year comes with you.

## What actually moves with you

Your TBSZ is legally tied to the year you opened it. That year comes across to Lightyear intact – if you don't already have a TBSZ from that year with us, we create one automatically, so your assets land in the right place and your five-year clock keeps running where it left off.

## A few things to know before you start:
- We can only accept instruments that are available on Lightyear. Anything outside that needs to be sold at your current provider first, and the value brought over as cash.
- Fractional shares can't be moved as they are – they'll need to be sold before the transfer.
- Hungarian government bonds currently fall outside what we can accept.
- Hungarian regulation doesn't allow partial TBSZ transfers. An account moves in full, or not at all – so it's worth checking what's in yours before you begin.

We'll show you all of this in the app before you commit to anything, so you can decide whether transferring makes sense for you.

### Your roadmap:
- Go to 'Transfer your portfolio' in your app's main menu.
- Select your TBSZ collection year and tell us which broker currently holds it.
- Choose whether you're bringing over cash, securities, or both.
- We generate a Letter of Acceptance for you to send to your broker, who then initiates the transfer from their side.
- Track the progress right in your app- you'll always see what stage you're at and who needs to act next.
- Once your assets arrive and your previous provider issues the tax certificate, your transfer is complete. You'll receive everything needed to report your TBSZ to NAV (your Lightyear account number, transfer date, starting value, collection year), a link to reporting portal (ONYA), and a reminder about the 30-day reporting deadline.

## Bits to be aware of
There's no central system for TBSZ transfers in Hungary. Everything is arranged directly between the two providers, which means your current broker sets much of the pace– and some take their time. We'll give you a realistic estimate in the app and keep you posted at every stage, rather than promising a date we don't control.

Also, many brokers charge a fee to transfer your portfolio out. That's on their side, not ours (we don't charge anything to bring a TBSZ in) but it's worth knowing what you're looking at before you start.
