## Why transfer to Lightyear?

### HU transfers

- Free TBSZ with fair pricing: No opening, holding or withdrawal fees. No transfer charges from us.

- We'll guide you through it: We outline each step, so you don't have to figure it out yourself.

- Won’t affect your taxes: Your TBSZ holding period carries over, transferring doesn't start the clock again.

A TBSZ is a long game. In a long game, fees decide the outcome. Lightyear is low-cost, handles the transfer, and your tax advantage stays.

## Questions a curious investor might ask

### How do I transfer my TBSZ to Lightyear?

For TBSZ, you can’t transfer partial portfolios, meaning your full TBSZ has to move together. As a first step, you need to reach out to your current broker to get an initiator statement, after which you can find ‘Transfer your portfolio’ in your Lightyear app’s main menu.

From there, you just need to follow the steps outlined. We’ve pulled together a guide with more information [here](https://lightyear.com/en-hu/help/trading-and-investments/how-to-transfer-tbsz)

### How much does a TBSZ transfer cost?

Transfer-out fees vary by broker, so it's worth checking with your current provider what they'll charge before starting, especially if you hold several instruments.

From our side, there are no fees for your incoming TBSZ transfer.

### How long does a TBSZ transfer take?

It depends on the number of transfers that are handled as well as both brokers' internal processes. In practice, you can expect this to take a few weeks, but don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated in the transfer tracker in your Lightyear account.

### Do I need to report my TBSZ transfer to NAV?

Yes, when you transfer a TBSZ to Lightyear, you need to declare the transfer to NAV, similarly to how you do when opening a new TBSZ with us. If you don't, NAV has no record that your TBSZ continues at Lightyear for its original start year, and it may treat your gains as taxable when the account matures.

The deadline to do this is 30 days from the date of the transfer, as stated on the Lekötési igazolás issued by your previous provider.

This is separate from any declaration you might have made when you first opened the TBSZ with your previous broker. That earlier declaration does not carry over to Lightyear.
