TBSZ declaration guide

Hungarian authorities require you to report any TBSZ account held with a foreign provider (such as Lightyear) each year. It’s important to declare your TBSZ to NAV within 30 days after starting to use the account, meaning after you’ve funded your TBSZ with at least 25,000 HUF or the equivalent in another currency. To help with this, after you’ve deposited, Lightyear sends you a declaration email with a certificate and the following steps.

• The guide below is here to walk you through the process on the e-Papír website. We aim to keep these instructions up to date, but if you experience technical issues or any changes within these steps, please contact the service provider directly.
• Lightyear isn’t notified when you’ve declared your TBSZ, therefore, we’ll send in-app reminders to complete your declaration during the 30-day window. For status updates or any edits you may need to do, please contact NAV directly.

The information on the websites referenced below is only available in Hungarian. If you’re using Chrome and need these pages in another language, click on the three vertical dots at the top right and select “Translate”. Some parts in the following steps are presented in Hungarian, as they appear on the original pages.

• Ügyfélkapu+: This option is only available if you had an Ügyfélkapu registration before. Read more about this here.

• In “Témacsoport”, choose “Adóügy (NAV)”. Do not choose “Adóügy (NGM)”.
• In the “Címzett” dropdown, choose the directorate of NAV that you belong to based on your residency address (note that the screenshot is only for reference!). See NAV’s map-based search to confirm your directorate.

• In “Előzmény iktatószáma”, enter “1”.
• In “Levél tárgya”, copy-paste the following: Tartós befektetési szerződés (TBSZ) bejelentése külföldi szolgáltatónál
• In “Levél szövege”, copy-paste the following: Tisztelt Nemzeti Adó- és Vámhivatal! Ezúton hozom tudomásukra, hogy tartós befektetési számlát nyitottam a Lightyear Europe AS-nél. A Lightyear Europe AS egy külföldi befektetési szolgáltató. A TBSZ igazolásához szükséges adatszolgáltatás részeként csatolom az alábbi információt: Teljes nevem: [XX] Adóazonosító jelem: [XX] A szerződés kezdete [YYYY-MM-DD] Az első befizetett összeg: [XX]

Make sure to replace the square brackets with your personal details:

• Teljes nevem: Full name.
• Adóazonosító jelem: Personal tax identification number (10 digits).
• A szerződés kezdete: Contract date, when you opened the Lightyear TBSZ account. You’ll see this information in the TBSZ certification we sent you after you deposited into your account.
• Az első befizetett összeg: Amount and currency of the first deposit into your Lightyear TBSZ.
