About BCE

BCE is one of Canada's "Big 3" telecom service providers, offering wireless and broadband services nationally, but with strongholds in Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. The firm serves 10 million postpaid and nearly 1 million prepaid wireless customers, and 5 million broadband customers across a footprint reaching about 13 million homes. The firm purchased Ziply Fiber in 2025, expanding its reach to the Pacific Northwest of the US. Outside of its wireless and wireline services, BCE operates a media segment containing multiple broadcast television channels, regional radio stations, and a digital media platform. The firm completed its divestiture of its 37.5% share of Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment to Rogers in 2025, retaining its minority position in the Montreal Canadiens.

Bulls say / Bears say

Fibre and wireless execution is improving: Q2 residential FTTH net additions rose 14.5% year over year, Internet revenue increased 14.2%, and postpaid churn fell to 1.02%, its lowest level in three years. (BCE Q2 2026 results)
BCE is developing potentially higher-growth AI and enterprise businesses: Q2 revenue from Ateko and Bell Cyber increased 29%, and the company is expanding Bell AI Fabric with a planned 300 MW Saskatchewan data centre. (BCE Q2 2026 results)
Bell Media is showing signs of stabilization: Q2 revenue grew 8.9%, adjusted EBITDA rose 3.8%, and Crave subscriptions increased 23% to 5.07 million, supporting a stronger digital-media mix. (BCE Q2 2026 results)
Canadian telecom remains under pressure: Bell CTS Canada service revenue fell 1.7% and adjusted EBITDA declined 3.1% in Q2 2026, reflecting legacy-service erosion, unfavorable CRTC wholesale-rate adjustments and lower connection-fee revenue. (BCE Q2 2026 results)
Cash generation is expected to weaken materially as BCE funds growth projects: March guidance called for 2026 free-cash-flow declines of 28%–34%, while capital intensity was raised to roughly 20% because of the Saskatchewan AI data centre. (BCE Q1 2026 results)
Balance-sheet pressure remains a risk: Bell issued $1.6 billion of Canadian notes and $650 million of U.S. notes in June 2026, while Q2 net earnings were hurt by higher interest expense. (BCE Q2 2026 SEC filing)
