In Q1 2025, unit sales surged 46% year-over-year as Carvana took advantage of tariff-driven price increases in used cars and implemented cost reductions, posting a record-high EBITDA margin and marking a strong turnaround since its near-bankruptcy in 2022 (Financial Times).

Second-quarter profitability was boosted by one-time gains from selling auto loans, suggesting that core operating performance may not be as strong in future quarters (Reuters).
Possible increases in auto tariffs could raise costs and pressure used-car margins, leading analysts at J.P. Morgan to lower earnings forecasts for Carvana (Barron’s).
