Bulls say / Bears say
Record Q2 performance: Everus delivered Q2 2026 EPS of $1.64 (vs. $0.68 consensus, +141%) and revenue of $1.23 billion (up 34% YoY), both quarterly records, highlighting strong execution across its core segments (Investing.com)
Robust backlog growth: Backlog surged 53% YoY to $4.55 billion (≈80% expected to convert within 12 months), driven by data center, semiconductor, and industrial project bookings, providing high visibility into future revenues (Investing.com)
Upgraded full-year guidance: Following a strong first half, management raised 2026 revenue guidance to $4.5 billion–$4.7 billion and EBITDA guidance to $410 million–$425 million, reflecting confidence in sustained demand and project execution (Investing.com)
E&M segment concentration: Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) revenues accounted for $1.01 billion of the $1.23 billion in Q2 2026, or ~82% of total revenues, while the Transmission & Distribution segment grew just 7.1% and its backlog increased only 1% QoQ, exposing Everus to uneven segment performance risk (Business Wire)
Rising SG&A pressure: Selling, general & administrative expenses jumped 50.2% YoY to $71.2 million in Q2 2026—driven by higher labor costs and amortization from recent acquisitions—outpacing organic revenue growth and potentially weighing on margins if top-line momentum slows (Business Wire)
Acquisition integration and leverage risk: The $295 million all-cash agreement to acquire Epsilon Industries, funded partly by borrowings under credit facilities and subject to customary closing conditions in Q3 2026, raises execution and capital structure risks during integration (Business Wire)
