About Cheniere Energy

Cheniere Energy is a liquified natural gas, or LNG, producer with two facilities in Corpus Christi, Texas and Sabine Pass, Louisiana. It generates most of its revenue through long-term contracts with customers on a fixed and variable fee payout structure. It also generates revenue by selling uncontracted LNG to customers on a short or one-time basis. A subsidiary, Cheniere Energy Partners, owns the Sabine Pass facility and trades as a master limited partnership.

What the Analysts think about Cheniere Energy

Analyst ratings (Buy, Hold, Sell) for Cheniere Energy stock.

Bulls say / Bears say

The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved additional production trains 8 and 9 at the Corpus Christi terminal in March 2025, paving the way for increased LNG capacity and reinforcing Cheniere’s growth trajectory. (Reuters)
Cheniere’s board gave final investment decision on June 24, 2025 for an $8 billion midscale expansion of its Corpus Christi project, aiming to double total capacity to 90 mtpa by the early 2030s, which prompted a 2.4% share price uplift and drew positive analyst commentary from J.P. Morgan. (Reuters)
At CERAWeek, Cheniere announced plans to electrify Stage 3 of its Corpus Christi facility, reducing reliance on gas turbines and cutting carbon emissions, thereby strengthening its ESG profile ahead of global sustainability trends. (Reuters)
Escalating construction, labor, and borrowing costs have driven other U.S. LNG exporters to seek contract renegotiations, yet Cheniere’s rigid, inflation-linked fee structure limits its flexibility to adjust pricing, potentially straining future contract competitiveness. (Reuters)
Reliance on grid electricity for the electrified Stage 3 trains may introduce operational risks, as grid outages or constraints could disrupt LNG production and delivery schedules. (Reuters)
Cheniere has previously struggled to meet federal emissions limits for its gas-driven turbines, complicating regulatory exemption requests and exposing it to potential compliance costs and operational disruptions. (Reuters)
