Lightyear Promotion Terms
Lightyear Europe AS (Lightyear) is authorised and regulated as an investment firm by the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority under activity license number 4.1-1/31. Lightyear is a company registered in Estonia with company number 16235024 and registered office Tallinn, Volta 1, 10412, Estonia.
Lightyear Promotion Terms

Lightyear administers promotions (Promotion) under these terms (Terms) through the Lightyear App.
Promotions are run in accordance with Lightyear’s general Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the general Terms of Service, the general Terms of Service shall prevail.
Terms and Conditions
- These Terms govern timed promotions offered by Lightyear or Lightyear's affiliate partners (Affiliates) from time to time. A promotion may allow eligible customers to claim a Reward (Reward) during the Promotional Period (as specified in the App) by meeting the participation requirements and fulfilling any additional conditions specified for the promotion.
- The Reward depends on the Promotion. The nature and criteria of each specific Promotion shall be specified in-App or via marketing materials. The Reward can be a benefit (such as removal of certain fees), a fractional share worth a pre-determined amount or any other alternative reward as communicated to our customers.
- If an individual wishes to redeem a Reward, any Reward requiring deposit into an account (such as monetary rewards or fractional shares) can only be deposited into the Customer’s primary Lightyear account. In jurisdictions where Customers are able to open multiple accounts, this requirement still applies. Non-monetary Rewards (e.g., fee waivers) are not subject to this requirement.
- The Reward that is a fractional share worth a pre-determined amount can be claimed by placing a market order on the Lightyear App to buy the chosen fractional share. This order cannot be cancelled or otherwise modified. If the Reward is redeemed at the time when the market in which the fractional share is tradable, is closed, the Reward shall be made available once the market opens and the order is filled. By redeeming the Reward, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:
- Lightyear does not provide any investment advice or recommendations by making the Reward available to the eligible customer.
- The Reward shall grant the eligible customer a right to receive a fractional share in the monetary amount as specified in the specific Reward but the customer is not entitled to any specific amount of fractional shares. The amount of fractional shares received by the customer will depend on the market price at the time of filling the order.
- Standard Lightyear fees apply to the Reward. This means that a currency conversion fee is deducted from the Reward while converting it to another currency, to make the fractional share order. For more details on pricing, please refer to Terms of Service and here: https://lightyear.com/pricing.
- For Rewards that can be withdrawn, they may be withdrawn only after 30 days (or longer as may be specified in the Lightyear App) have passed from receiving the Reward in the customer's account. If the Reward is a fractional stock that is sold and/or the money is converted into another currency, the withdrawal restriction shall apply to a sum on the account equal to the Reward’s original value as specified in-App or via marketing materials.
- Lightyear reserves the right to amend, extend or withdraw any Promotion if necessary, including for legal or regulatory reasons or otherwise at any time without prior notice. If the Promotion closes early, all qualifying applications received up until this time will be accepted. We reserve the right to disqualify a customer at any time from participation in a Promotion if they do not comply with any of these Terms.
- Promotions are enabled for a customer who satisfies the requirements outlined in these Terms. A customer will be able to use each specific Promotion once or as specified otherwise in-app or marketing materials. A Promotion cannot be used together with any other reward offered by Lightyear (such as referral rewards).
- Lightyear does not provide any investment advice and customers should make their own investment decisions or seek independent advice from a professional adviser. Nothing in the Promotion represents a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any particular investment.
- The purpose of the Promotion is to introduce Lightyear to new customers that wish to actively use the solutions provided by Lightyear. If Lightyear identifies abusive behaviour aimed to take advantage of this Promotion contrary to the Promotion’s purposes, Lightyear may disqualify such customers at any time from participation in the Promotion. If your Promotion has been deactivated due to abusive behaviour in the past, it will not be reactivated. If the Reward has already been granted in connection with abusive behaviour, Lightyear may revoke and remove the Reward reward from the customer's account.
Tax
- The entire value of the instruments you may buy when sold may be subject to capital gains tax. You can check the value of each instrument when issued and/or sold on your portfolio screen in the App.
- Any tax depends on your personal circumstances and if you are unsure about any tax implications, seek professional advice from a tax professional. Lightyear does not take any responsibility for any tax implication related to this Reward.
