What the Analysts think about Albertsons
Analyst ratings (Buy, Hold, Sell) for Albertsons stock.
Bulls say / Bears say
For Q1 FY2025, Albertsons posted $24.88 billion in revenue (+2.5%), comparable sales growth of 2.8%, and digital sales up 25%, topping forecasts and leading management to lift full‐year same‐store sales guidance to 2–2.75% (Reuters)
Growth in the pharmacy and digital segments offset weaker fuel sales, with pharmacy outpacing general merchandise and digital channels strengthening customer engagement—demonstrating successful diversification and omnichannel investments (WSJ)
With Susan Morris becoming CEO, Albertsons is focusing on expanding its digital sales and retail media businesses, aiming for $1.5 billion in cost savings over three years to drive sustainable profitability (Reuters)
Despite revenue growth, Albertsons’ adjusted EPS guidance for fiscal 2025 of $2.03–$2.16 per share is below the $2.28 analyst consensus, signaling that higher operating and reinvestment costs may reduce investor returns (Reuters)
Gross margin narrowed to 27.1% in Q1 FY2025 from 27.8% a year earlier, as a higher share of lower-margin pharmacy sales and increased digital fulfillment costs added persistent pressure on margins in a challenging pricing environment (Reuters)
Albertsons is planning $1.7–$1.9 billion of capital expenditures in FY2025 for store remodels and IT upgrades after the failed Kroger merger, a move that could constrain free cash flow as cost pressures remain elevated (Reuters)
