About Otis Worldwide
Otis is the largest global elevator and escalator supplier by revenue with around 18% global market share. In 1854 Otis' founder and namesake Elisha Graves Otis, invented a safety mechanism that prevented elevators from falling if the hoisting cable failed. The company's product and service lifecycle begins with installations of elevator units in new buildings, later selling maintenance services on the units, and eventually replacement of the units after the average 15- to 20-year useful life of an elevator. As the largest global OEM, Otis has amassed an installed base under service that exceeds 2 million elevators. Its business model is similar to that of its closest competitors Kone, Schindler, and TK Elevator.

Modernization orders were up 22% year-over-year in Q2, with backlog growing by 19%, signaling accelerating replacement demand in the high-margin modernization business.
The UpLift cost-savings initiative remains on track to achieve $200 million in annual run-rate savings by year-end 2025, which will boost margins and help offset tariff challenges.
Q2 New Equipment net sales fell 10% year-over-year, led by a more than 20% drop in China, pointing to ongoing weakness in the new installation market.
Adjusted free cash flow for the first half of 2025 declined to $429 million from $508 million a year earlier, mainly due to less favorable working capital movements and softer operational cash generation.
GAAP earnings per share decreased 3% to $0.99 in Q2, and dropped 15% to $1.60 in the first half of 2025, weighed down by non-recurring charges, rising interest expense, and currency headwinds.
