About Lowe's
Lowe's is the second-largest home improvement retailer globally, with 1,761 stores in the US, after the 2023 divestiture of its Canadian locations. The firm's stores offer products and services for home decorating, maintenance, repair, and remodeling, with maintenance and repair accounting for two-thirds of products sold. Lowe's primarily targets retail do-it-yourself (more than 60% of sales) and do-it-for-me customers, but has expanded its professional business clients to more than 30% from less than 20% in the past seven years (set to expand further with growth of FBM locations). We estimate Lowe's captures a high-single-digit share of the domestic home improvement market, based on US Census data and management's market size estimates.

Analyst projections of the future price of Lowe's stock.
Bulls say / Bears say
Lowe’s beat second-quarter profit and margin estimates, with EPS of $4.27 versus $4.22 expected and gross margins of $8.58 billion topping the $8.54 billion forecast, driven by resilient home repair demand (Reuters)
Fourth-quarter comparable sales rose 1.3% versus an expected 0.4%, helped by steady professional-builder demand—the strongest comp growth since Q3 2022—demonstrating resilience in core operations (Reuters)
Lowe’s has bulked up its Pro category through strategic acquisitions of Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group, expected to contribute roughly $8 billion in sales during 2026 and strengthen its professional customer base (Reuters)
Sales of $25.96 billion fell short of the $26.16 billion estimate, and same-store sales rose just 0.2% versus the expected 0.8%, signaling continued consumer spending weakness (Reuters)
Lowe’s full-year comparable-sales guidance of flat to up 2% sits below analysts’ 2% forecast, and EPS guidance of $12.25 to $12.75 trails the consensus of $12.95, reflecting caution amid a stagnant U.S. housing market (Reuters)
The do-it-yourself segment remains under pressure as households delay big-ticket projects like kitchen remodels and flooring installs, forcing Lowe’s to rely heavily on pro and maintenance demand to offset softer discretionary sales (Reuters)
