About Lumen Technologies

Lumen Technologies is one of the largest telecommunications carriers serving global enterprises. The merger with Level 3 in 2017 and the 2022 divestiture of much of its local phone business in rural areas and small markets shifted the company's operations away from the legacy consumer business and toward enterprises services, which account for about 75% of revenue. Lumen offers businesses a full suite of communications services, providing colocation and data center services, data transportation, phone service, and internet access. Lumen has announced the sale of its remaining consumer fiber network to AT&T, which will further shift its focus to enterprise customers.

What the Analysts think about LUMN

Analyst ratings (Buy, Hold, Sell) for Lumen Technologies stock.

Bulls say / Bears say

Lumen posted a narrower-than-expected adjusted loss of $0.20 per share in Q3 2025 and beat revenue estimates with $3.09 billion, pointing to better execution and resilient demand.
The $5.75 billion sale of the consumer fiber business to AT&T will reduce Lumen's debt by $4.8 billion and lower annual interest expense by more than $300 million, greatly strengthening the company's balance sheet.
A multi-year partnership with Palantir, backed by over $200 million in investment, will bring Palantir’s AI platform onto Lumen’s network, putting Lumen in position to benefit from rising enterprise demand for AI.
Lumen’s Private Connectivity Fabric contracts expose the company to concentration risk, as a $1 billion deal is largely dependent on a single unidentified customer, creating vulnerability if the client pulls back.
Lumen’s sale of its consumer fiber business highlights the ongoing decline in demand from mass-market consumers, indicating that the company is resorting to asset sales to stabilize finances rather than generating organic growth.
Although Lumen topped revenue expectations, the company still posted an adjusted loss of $0.20 per share for Q3 2025, showing that it has yet to achieve sustainable profitability.
