Lightning Updates give you quick answers when a stock in your portfolio experiences a significant price change. Whatever’s driving the change, our smart AI monitors the news, cuts through the noise, and provides you with a summary of what’s happening.
Simply open the Lightyear app and you’ll see any active Lightning Updates for your stocks right there on your ‘Explore’ tab.
What about stocks you don’t yet hold? Lightning Updates can also help with investment opportunities you’ve got your eye on. Simply add the stock to your watchlist, and you’ll receive updates whenever it sees a significant price move. Or, navigate directly to the stock of the company you’re interested in, and you’ll see any recent Lightning Updates above the price chart.
How does it work?
It’s simple:
- When a stock you own moves significantly up or down, we detect it.
- Our AI analyses real-time news sources and market data to find possible reasons behind the movement.
- We generate a clear, concise update to explain the movement, which you’ll see the next time you login to Lightyear on app or web.
We’ve found the Lightning Updates work well when combined with our Volatility Alerts (which are available in our app).
Volatility Alerts ensure you receive a push notification when a stock or fund you hold (or watch) sees a significant price movement. If our smart AI has detected a reason for this move in its monitoring of market news, then you’ll see the corresponding Lightning Update as soon as you open the stock screen.
