The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve a return on your investment through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund’s assets, which reflects the return of the MSCI USA High Dividend Yield Advanced Select Index, less fees and expenses. The Fund is passively managed and invests, so far as possible and practicable, in the equity securities that make up the Index. The Index reflects the performance of a subset of stocks within the MSCI USA Index and applies an optimisation process seeking exposure to US stocks with higher dividend yields and quality characteristics, while also targeting a reduction in carbon emissions and an improvement in environmental, social and governance (ESG) scores relative to the Parent Index. The Parent Index measures the performance of large- and mid-cap stocks in the US equity market that meet MSCI’s size, liquidity and free-float criteria. The Index may exclude issuers involved in controversial, conventional or nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, tobacco, thermal coal, oil sands, or activities deemed to violate the United Nations Global Compact principles, as well as companies involved in very severe ESG-related controversies. The Fund uses a binding and significant ESG optimisation approach and may use financial derivative instruments and securities lending.

The investment objective of the Fund is to provide investors with a total return, taking into account both capital and income returns, which reflects the return of the MSCI USA High Dividend Yield ESG Reduced Carbon Target Select Index. The Index measures the performance of equity securities of large and midcapitalisation companies in the United States (US) with higher than average dividend income and quality characteristics.
