Claim up to €300 in a fractional share

Business accounts are available for companies with single and multiple shareholders in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and the UK.

The business accounts must meet our required terms of service / operate in a non-high risk industry. We cannot accept certain types of legal entities such as charities, trusts and foundations.

The person opening the account must reside in a country in which Lightyear is already available for personal accounts (see Can I open a business account?). If you have more than one business, you can open multiple business accounts with us.

It’s free to open up a business account! We also don’t charge any custody or monthly fees.

All you need to have at hand is your LEI code. If you don’t yet have an LEI, you can generate one within the Lightyear app for 48 € + VAT.

If you’ve already registered an LEI — we’ll find it for you during onboarding, all you need to do is confirm the details.

To use a promo code for your business account, you'll first need to create and verify a personal account. Once that's verified, you can start registering your business account. While your business account is being verified, enter your code under Promotions:

• Go to your personal profile
• Select Settings
• Select Promotions and enter your code

If you're eligible, you'll see the conditions for claiming the bonus. Promo codes are only valid for business accounts registered within the last 15 days. If you signed up your personal account earlier and already used a code, you can still redeem a code for your business account — as long as you've claimed one promotional code or fewer in total.

To claim the reward, you must:

1. Be eligible to sign up with Lightyear
2. Provide any supporting documentation you might need to complete account verification
3. Deposit at least €1,000 into your business account

The reward will be credited to your business account.

Your value of a share will be randomly generated based on the following probabilities:

• €30 - €50: 80%
• €51 - €75: 15%
• €76 - €150: 3%
• €151 - €300: 2%

Due to the randomized nature of generation, the actual distributed awards may differ from the weightings above.

Do you have cash reserves?: It’s generally good practice to have easily accessible cash available to cover your ongoing short term expenses, as well as an emergency fund for any unforeseen sudden expenses (e.g. needing to replace your washing machine), before investing extra money you might have. It may also be sensible to pay off debts with available money, rather than investing it.

Can you accept losses?: All investing contains an element of risk; your investment value can go down as well as up, so you could get back less than you invested, or in some cases, you may lose your entire investment. Generally the more risk you take gives you the opportunity for higher returns, but also increases the potential for greater losses. You should also think about how long you plan to invest for, and therefore whether you have the time to wait for any losses to recover. Don’t invest more than you can afford to lose.
