This article explains how to manage the emails we send you and how to change your security settings and other account preferences. If you’d like to update your contact information, please see I want to change my details.
How can I unsubscribe from your emails or notifications?
You can control how we contact you by going to Notifications in your Settings, either on mobile or on the web. Please note that some notifications, like those from our Support team, updates to our Terms of Service, or information about your account are essential and we’ll always send those, even if other communication preferences are turned off.
To unsubscribe, follow these steps:
- Select your profile icon (top left in the mobile app, top right in the web)
- Select on Settings → Notifications
- Toggle any notifications you’d like to keep on or off
Which security settings can I manage?
There are a couple of settings that you can manage under Security.
- Biometrics (mobile only): you can enable/disable the biometrics available to your device. Depending on your device, this can be Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.
- Hide portfolio values: this will hide all sensitive values in your portfolio and can also be reset directly in your portfolio tab
- Change password: this will send a password reset link to your registered email address.
How to change my password?
If you’re logged in to your account, select your profile icon (top left in the mobile app, top right in the web), then Settings → Security → Change password. If you’re logged out from your account, simply tap on “Forgot password?” in the login screen.
How can I change my account language?
To change your language settings, follow these steps:
Mobile app
- Select your profile icon (at the top left)
- Select Settings → Advanced → Language. When on mobile, please note we use your system settings to determine the language to use.
Web
- Select your profile icon (at the top right)
- Select Settings → Language settings
How can I change my account theme?
Whether you're trading in the light or researching in the dark, we’ve got your screen game covered. If you would like to switch between light and dark mode, or use your system settings, follow these steps:
Mobile app
- Select your profile icon (at the top left)
- Select Settings → Advanced → Theme
Web
- Log in to your Lightyear account
- Select the computer icon at the bottom left
What kind of accessibility options do you offer?
You can adjust colour filters and enable/disable haptic feedback. To do so, select your profile icon (top left in the mobile app, top right in the web), then select Settings → Advanced → Accessibility.
