The investment objective of the Fund is to track as closely as possible the returns of the MSCI EM (Emerging Market) Islamic Universal Screened Select Capped Index, while integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics. The Index is a subset of the MSCI Emerging Markets Islamic Index and comprises large- and mid-cap stocks across 24 Emerging Markets countries that comply with Shariah investment principles. The Index applies values- and climate-based exclusionary criteria, excludes stocks with exposure to controversial and nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, tobacco, thermal coal power and mining, arctic oil and gas, palm oil, recreational cannabis, involvement in severe controversies and breaching the United Nations Global Compact principles, and promotes certain ESG characteristics. The Index is rebalanced quarterly, with constituent weight caps applied to limit concentration. Income is reinvested.
